This item is extremely high quality. The metal is rigid and substantial. Powder coated enamel paint. I didn't install it because I had it added on at the dealer. I would hesitate to get a non Subaru dog separator because it would probably rattle over time. The subaru dog guard has an opening for the seat belt from the headliner.
